A pilot was flying over the Arabian Desert and landed his tiny aircraft at an airstrip to refuel. After taking off again, he was soon over a mountainous area, when he heard a scratching noise behind him. It sounded as if some animal had gotten into the fuselage of the plane. He became alarmed, for he knew if an animal gnawed away at the electrical wiring, it could cause a serious malfunction. But there was no place to land in the rugged territory.

He had an idea. He pulled the joystick, accelerated the plane and guided his plane straight up into the air, aiming directly towards the sun. Higher and higher into the sky the little plane went, soon reached an altitude where there was very little oxygen. The sound of the gnawing and scratching ceased.

Later when he landed at an airport, he found a huge desert rat that had crawled in unnoticed, when he had refuelled at the desert airstrip.
But the unwanted guest was dead. Accustomed as it was to the desert, it could not survive when the plane climbed to the higher altitude.

You are called to be an eagle. You are called to soar high, to do great things.

There will always be some crows crowing at us, some chickens pecking at us, some hawks attacking us. They are trying to trap us into a conflict.
The only way to argue with a crow is to come down to its level. If you find yourself offended, trying to prove your point, it is a sign you have come down too low. Don’t get drawn into those battles. You need to go back up where you belong.

So instead of bothering with the pesky crow and its squawking, just rise higher and higher and eventually the crow will be left behind. Soar to the altitudes a crow cannot fly.

What kind of noises do you hear as you fly through life?
Critical, grumbling and complaining voices?
Voices causing fear, worry, stress and anxiety?
Of rejection, comparison, competing voices?

You have a choice. You can operate at this lower level and fight. You may win sometimes and lose the other times. In either case, there will be blood shed, sweat, failures,… Or you can shut the second voice. The first voice that you hear is the voice of your spirit.

What does an eagle do? He waits for the thermal winds, catches it in his wings by spreading them and just soars high.

Draw near to God and soar to a higher ground guided by His voice.

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
